About Centa For Organisational Development
Centa for Organizational Development (COD) is a registered national gender proportionate & focused non-governmental, non-political, not for profit organization In Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2012. We seek to redress the existing in- balances in women’s socio – economic, political and cultural rights through research, advocacy and trainings in education, Health, civic participation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria. Through these initiatives, the universal and inalienable rights of more women are protected and promoted. Our aim is to continue to work with the United Nations systems, structures and committees including the global community, International Development Partners, governments at all levels and the private sector in Nigeria to build a society where women and girls achieve their maximum potentials without discriminations by bringing global best practices to local challenges. Our purpose is to remain steadfast and committed to the promotion & protection of women’s human rights using advocacy, broad based enterprise and organizational development trainings and advancement of micro credit to lift women & girls out of poverty. We work for the Domestication of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and sustainable Development Goals and Sustainable Development Goals especially goals 5, 6 and 10.We are the secretariat of SDG National Multisector Strategy Group In Nigeria and Secretary to the board of Civil Society Coalition on SDGs in Nigeria. We have held hosted two national workshops to accelerate the implementation of SDGs in Nigeria and published in July 2017 the Nigerian NGO Civil Society Shadow Report on the Implementation of SDGs in Nigeria.

Commitment Summary
We are highly committed to the implementation of SDGs in Nigeria, especially Goal 16 through our program implementation and interactions with Nigeria’s SDG National Multi-Sector Strategy Group. We work with the House of Representative Committee on SDGs as well as Ministry of National Planning and Budget that is currently mainstreaming SDGs into National Plans and programs through budgetary allocations.

Full Commitment
We have held two National consultative forums on the acceleration of the implementation of SDGs in Nigeria. We have established the Nigerian SDG National Multi-Sector Strategy Group on SDG 16, We have researched and published our Nigerian NGO SDG Shadow report that is a synopsis of SDG implementation so far in Nigeria. This can be scaled up and broadened. Due to large scale uncertainties in Nigeria at the moment engaging government is extremely challenging across SDG 16. We are however unrelenting. We are putting our grouos forward as a veritable tool for SDG 16 and Agenda 2030. With your support we can break the mounting barriers in SDG 16 implementation in Nigeria.
