Commitment Summary
LUPSSAD ensure that the SDGs goal 16 of the 2030 agenda is influenced by Policies formulation of national leaders, stake holder (Parliamentarians) for citizen participation in decision making for the smooth implementation of the 2030 agenda also partners’ policy positions; and will ensure that high quality participatory research is available to CSOs and other actors, heads of relevant government ministries and agencies and including parliamentarians throughout the SDGs 2030 agenda negotiation process.

LUPSSAD Work Plan Overview: Liberians United to Promote Society Safety and Development working in collaboration with it partners and other civil society organizations in Liberia aimed to Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels as called for by the SDGs goal 16 of the 20130 agenda. Liberia civil crisis has led to a destruction of infrastructures including public and private sectors has affected all fabrics of the Liberian society at every level; hence the need for institutional capacity building cannot be over emphasized. The need for access to justice should be prioritized to provide a sound basis for development; government budgets should be comprehensive, transparent and realistic. Progress promoting peace and justice, together with effective, accountable and inclusive institutions, remains uneven across and within Liberia; secondly Citizen lacking access and knowledge to national budget is one of the contributing factors to the nation underdevelopment. Therefore, the need for the participation of every citizen in decision making at all levels should be encouraged and prioritized through the formulation of policies by national leaders and stake holder (Parliamentarians) for their participation.

Objective 1: To ensure that the SDGs goal 16 of the 2030 agenda is influenced by partners’ policy positions. Objective 2: To ensure that high quality participatory research is available to CSOs and other actors, and that it is taken into account meaningfully throughout the intergovernmental negotiation process.
