YAG is committed to ensure the active participation of young people in the SDGs accountability.
YAG hosts Africa’s largest youth gathering on the SDGs-the African Youth SDGs Summit. The African Youth SDGs Summit’s theory of change is that when Africa’s young people are empowered to meaningfully participate in socio-political discourse, institutional efficiencies and accountability is improved, policies and programs targeted at young people are fully implemented. Thus, through this movement, we hope to activate the spirit of youth civic participation, challenge institutional bottlenecks and set African Youth on the path to development. We achieve this through an annual summit, in-country roundtable policy dialogues, and series of activities, we mobilize and engage youth groups, national governments, CSOs, UN Systems and the private sector to dialogue and exchange ideas and reflect on the way forward to increase investment and participation of young people in development on the continent.
