As you are aware, in paragraph 90. of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/post2015/transformingourworld), Member States requested the Secretary-General, in consultation with Member States, to prepare a report, for consideration at the current 70th session of the General Assembly in preparation for the 2016 meeting of the HLPF which outlines critical milestones towards coherent, efficient and inclusive follow-up and review at the global level.

In order to informally contribute to the reflection, Major Groups and other Stakeholders are hereby invited to provide their views and inputs on these issues by completing an online questionnaire available at: http://goo.gl/forms/KXWkLSs153.  Please note that the deadline for providing inputs is midnight on Sunday, 15 November 2015. The inputs and responses received will be made available on our website (sustainabledevelopment.un.org).

20 October 2015: Partnerships for SDGs is an online platform for encouraging global engagement around multi-stakeholder partnerships and voluntary commitments in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The platform is currently in a draft (beta) version, with a full version including additional functionalities to be launched in January 2016, responding to the needs of the users and to the requests of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

Views are now sought from all stakeholders through an online survey, with the results from the survey to guide the development of the projected “full version” in achieving its aim of becoming a tool to encourage global partnerships engagement around the SDGs.

16 October 2015: Regarding the call for nominations for the 10 representatives of civil society, the private sector and the scientific community to work with the UN inter-agency task team as part of the new Technology Facilitation Mechanism, please be advised that the deadline has been extended to midnight on Sunday, 25 October.

8 October 2015: His Excellency Mr. Andrej Logar, Chairperson of the 70th General Assembly Second Committee and Permanent Representative of Slovenia to the United Nations, is convening informal consultations with NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC on the agenda and work of the Second Committee on 22 October 2015, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Conference Room 2, at the United Nations Headquarters.

This innovative step in the Second Committee represents a unique opportunity for civil society to share its distinctive perspective and concrete inputs to Member States’ deliberations on the Committee’s agenda and work in order to better respond to the challenges of implementing the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

This nomination process seeks candidates as speakers to address either of the following questions:

1. How can the Second Committee ensure that its work is in line with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development?
2. How should the agenda of the Second Committee look like in the coming years?

All candidates must be representatives of non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council and authorized to speak on behalf of their organization. Due to the technical nature of the discussions, all candidates should be familiar with the discussions regarding the Post-2015 process, as well as the work of the Second Committee, in order to provide substantive inputs into the discussion.
