Current Commitment to SDG16+

Summary of commitment:

CIVICUS is a global alliance of civil society organisations and activists dedicated to strengthening citizen action and civil society throughout the world. we work to strengthen citizen action and civil society toward a more just, inclusive and sustainable. Our work is guided by our three strategic goals, which reflect our belief that people-powered and collective action is at the centre of transformative change: 1) Defending civic freedoms and democratic values.

Organization's priorities and work in relation to commitment:

The organization and it members as well as partners have committed themselves in their vision and mission to have a Country with health future and make sure that Child rights is a priority. Then the organization had its feeling and commitments that are guided and would join with other partners having vision to change the situation of the poorest of the poor and improving their status by continuing to fight Poverty Ignorance and Disease and its obvious that the 'problem' should be solved. To this end we are then obliged to abide to the principles outlined within SDG16 and the 2030 Agenda, including by upholding the commitment to leaving no one behind in our work, and working openly and inclusively with other TAP Network Partners or Members;-Helping advance the overall mission and objectives of the TAP Network, including around SDG16 and accountability for the 2030 Agenda.

Organization's work related to TAP network's SGD16+ work & accountability for 2030 Agenda:

CIVICUS is working to promote action and accountability on SDG 16 by: 1) ensuring that core elements of this Goal, around fundamental freedoms and citizen participation in particular, are applied across efforts to achieve all SDGs (Goals 1-17), by providing civil society with the knowledge, resources and opportunities to fully engage in Agenda 2030; and 2) supporting civil society generate and use data relating to specific targets and indicators within Goal 16, primarily 16.7 and 16.10, to support a more accurate, inclusive, and accountable approach to follow up and review of Goal 16.
