MISSION As a Vietnamese non-governmental organization, MSD is taking efforts to enable environment for the development of civil society sector and to promote the rights of marginalized groups, especially children, youth, women and people with disabilities. As indicated in MSD’s vision, its committed to promote justice, equality and peace at all levels of society through engagement in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development / Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Organization's priorities and work in relation to commitment:

As indicated in MSD’s vision, its committed to promote justice, equality and peace at all levels of society through engagement in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development / Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The focused SDGs are SDG1, 4. 5, 6, 8., 10, 16, 17. For 2020 – 2024 period, MSD has 3 strategic programs, including (1) Inspiring CSOs – capacity building, networking and advocacy for the enabling environment for Vietnamese CSOs; (2) Business for Sustainability – enhancing Responsible Business with efforts in CSR/CSV, Philanthropy and SDGs; and (3) SDG projects on (i) Child and Youth Education, Protection and Development; (ii) Changes lives for vulnerable groups, especially youth and women in the digital ages; and (iii) protecting environment health in Vietnam.

Organization's work related to TAP network's SGD16+ work & accountability for 2030 Agenda:

Inspiring CSOs is one of three main programs of MSD with the purpose of building capacity of local CSOs and multi-stakeholders in creating social impacts and advocating for enabling environment for local CSOs since 2012. After A2030 with the successful implementation of strategy in 2016 - 2020, MSD has its new strategy for 2021 - 2030 to: (1) Promoting CSOs, government and private sectors’ practice and partnership in contributing to SDGs; (2) Creating SDG Living Lab - professional learning and sharing platform for CSOs and multi-stakeholder to join efforts of knowledge exchange and monitor the implementation of SDG process in the view of SDG and citizen-generated data; and (3) Researching and advocating for enabling environment for CSOs’ participation in SDG implementation and monitoring. Especially, MSD led LNOB Partnership in Vietnam, Action for CSO Development Alliance (2 networks working on SDGs) and play as advisor of Vietnamese government in SDG process. MSD did contributed to Vietnam’s Voluntary Review in 2018 and represented CSOs in Vietnam in the High Level Forum in 2018. MSD's director is currently co-vice chair of ADA and representing ADA in TAP Network Steering Committee in 2021. In addition, with SDG impact projects – other main programs, MSD focused on promoting the rights of children and youth and vulnerable communities. The SDG 16 and 16+’s relating areas are: - End violence against children and youth and women - Gender equality - Education for all - Children, youth and vulnerable group participation in local planning - Etc.
