Organization mission and work description:

The Arab-EURO Center for Studies (AECS) The Arab-European Center for Studies is an independent international non-governmental organization that was established for the first time unofficially in 2011 in Syria. It aims to support respect for the principles of human rights, democracy and freedom of the media, overcome obstacles to the implementation of international human rights law, spread a culture of human rights in the Arab world and the international community, and promote intercultural dialogue within the framework of international human rights conventions and covenants. In order to achieve these goals, the Center works on proposing and advocating for policies, legislation and constitutional amendments that enhance international human rights standards, conducting research and advocacy activities by employing various national, regional and international mechanisms, and teaching human rights and freedom of opinion and expression, with a special focus on youth, and capacity building. We do not work in a confrontational manner, but rather seek dialogue with strategic partners and want to identify new alternatives to work, develop and publish effective tools to combat corruption, media freedom, human rights, gender equality and environmental protection . In order to drive change, we form alliances with governments, administrations, politicians, businesses, and civil society groups that represent a trustworthy, transparent, and values-oriented civic democratic political culture. We develop situations, perform at events and speak to decision makers. Clarification through communication is very important to us, whether it is through our own channels or via contact with the media.
