Current Commitment to SDG16+

Summary of commitment:

Corruption cripples the capability of societies to pay for the vast investments needed to meet the SDGs. Corruption not only reduces the amount of tax a state is able or willing to collect, but also reduces the effectiveness of developmental spending by governments, international donors and impact investors. To address this issue, Transparency International works to ensure that the funds needed to finance the 2030 Agenda are not diverted into corrupt pockets. At the national level, this includes monitoring public financial management processes, while at the international level, Transparency International advocates for greater transparency in financial flows directed towards sustainable development.
