Current Commitment to SDG16+

Summary of commitment:

We are committed to engage TAP activities, engage thematic groups, attend webinar, showcase stories and reports

Organization's priorities and work in relation to commitment:

VOICE is a right based research and advocacy organization working mainly on the issues of human rights-- right to information and communication justice, privacy rights and data protection, freedom of expression, countering hate speech & misinformation, as well as around the issues of aid and development effectiveness, economic justice, food sovereignty, climate change, public health programme etc, both in Bangladesh and on a global scale. By building a broader constituency of alternative voices to the mainstream development discourse through research and public education, VOICE takes a stand against unjust and undemocratic practices. VOICE’s mission is to build a pluralist society drawing on the interactions, choices and power of indigenous cultures and resources. It strategically works through networking and partnership for a new development paradigm establishing a micro-macro linkage in order to generate increased support for policy influencing. It works with a team of activists on research and action and believes in promoting the capacity, knowledge and empowerment of people.

Organization's work related to TAP network's SGD16+ work & accountability for 2030 Agenda:

We work on freedom of expression, access to information, the right to data privacy, violence against women, countering hate speech and misinformation, protection of civic space, access to justice and governance issues, etc which are related to SDGs1+

Plan on engaging in TAP's work as a Partner:
  • Thematic Working Groups
  • Exploring partnerships with like-minded organizations
  • Exploring opportunities for hosting TAP Network national or regional-level capacity building activities
