African Centre of Excellence for Access to Justice
The African Centre of Excellence for Access to Justice (ACE-AJ) is a continent-wide network of African civil society organizations working to promote access to justice, universal human rights, the rule of law and legal aid for marginalised and poor communities. As ACE-AJ strives to advance access to justice, human rights, and the rule of law across the African continent, our commitment extends to aligning our work with Sustainable Development Goal 16 and its “+” components. SDG 16 focuses on promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, ensuring access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions. ACE-AJ’s initiatives directly contribute to SDG 16+ by advocating for comprehensive approaches to justice delivery, enhancing the quality and innovativeness of justice service delivery, and promoting ethical values within the justice sector. Our core objectives emphasize equitable, affordable, and culturally relevant access to justice, ensuring that the most vulnerable, marginalized, and excluded individuals have their rights protected.
